Switzerland uses plug types C, J at 230 V, 50 Hz. From the US you need a type J adapter.
Switzerland uses its own type J plug, three round pins with the ground pin off-center, set in a narrow six-sided recess. Flat two-pin Europlugs (type C) also fit, but many adapters sold for Europe do not.
